DESCRIPTION: |
 |
One step through the doors and guests are transported to the grandeur of old New York. A Grand Dame of Madison Avenue since 1924, the fully renovated building spans over a full city block on Madison Avenue across from Grand Central Station. Guests are a short walk from Broadway, Rockefeller Center, and famous Fifth Avenue shopping.
Named after President Theodore Roosevelt, this midtown gem was built in the thriving Grand Central zone of the 1920s. The Roosevelt Hotel was linked with Grand Central Station by way of an underground passage that once connected the hotel to the train terminal.
Guy Lombardo performed “Auld Lang Syne” for the first time in the hotel’s Roosevelt Grill, and Lawrence Welk began his impressive career here.
The Roosevelt Hotel has been seen in several major motion pictures, including “The Boiler Room,” “Wall Street,” “Quiz Show,” “Presumed Innocent,” “Malcolm X,” “Monday Night Mayhem,” “French Connection” and “Maid in Manhattan,” starring Jennifer Lopez
