Hostess-Roosevelt Grill - Part Time (1)

Effective 8/15/17 (Union)

As host, you will provide arriving guests with a prompt, gracious greeting and seat them comfortably with menus. Take reservation by phone and in person, providing helpful, accurate responses to inquiries. Ensure that tables are clean and set before seating guests and seating charts for station rotations are maintained. Tidy the service podium, keeping it organized, and maintain a supply inventory. Clear, effective written and verbal English communication skills are required. One year cash handling experience and the ability to accurately handle cash, credit, or room charges according to Interstate policies, procedures and guidelines, also is preferred. This role requires continuous motion and the ability to lift up to 30 pounds, clearing tables, buffets, and pulling tables.

 

Director of Services (Housekeeping) (1)

Effective 8/16//2017 (Non-Union)

As Executive Housekeeper, you will oversee a dedicated housekeeping team to ensure the comfort and safety of guests, while helping meet and exceed business goals. Create an environment that's safe and engaging, where motivated people want to join, learn, do their best, and advance. Lead a diverse team by modeling the way, by empowering, and coaching throughout the employment lifecycle.Successfully administer the department's budget. Ensure financial goals are met through budget development and oversight. Protect the brand and asset by ensuring that programs are smoothly implemented and compliant. And, if something goes wrong, you make it right for the guest. Candidate must have clear, effective English verbal and written communication skills are required, with a second language preferred. Microsoft Word and Excel proficiency is required. This position requires the physical ability to lift and carry up to 25 lbs.

 

Executive Sous Chef

This position requires at least 2 years of experience in a New York City Union Hotel as a Sous Chef or Executive Sous Chef. The ideal candidate must be able to coordinate, plan and supervise the production, plating, and presentation of food in ala carte and banquet settings. The individual will be a hands-on Chef with proven leadership skills, New York City Health Department Certification and a full understanding of food safety procedures.  A Culinary degree is required.

 

Food & Beverage Operations Manager

The position is responsible for the short-term planning and managing the operations of the Restaurant(s), Room Service, Lounge(s) and Banquets. Recommends promotional ideas and procedural changes. Prepares forecast, implements, monitors and controls the budgets for the various outlets. Conducts training within the Food and Beverage divisions to achieve customer (guest, employees, corporate and owners) satisfaction and quality service while meeting/exceeding financial goals.
  • At least two years of Food and Beverage Management Including Union Management experience preferred.
     

Housekeeping Manager

This position requires 2 years of hotel experience in a similar position in a 500+ room hotel; 2-year hospitality degree required. The candidate will have union experience, be well organized, detail oriented, and personable, and will supervise and inspect the daily cleaning of the guest rooms, turn down service, and public areas and back of the house. Ensure compliance with accident / loss prevention programs to achieve a high level of cleanliness and guest satisfaction. Monitors inventories and expenses. Respond, schedule, train, motivate, and coach and counsel employees and housekeeping supervisors while providing a safe work environment.

 

Business Sales Transient Manager

The position is responsible for annual negotiation of Business Travel accounts as well as overseeing the day-to-day efforts of the Business Transient Sales segment.  Candidates must possess a minimum of 2-3 years hotel sales experience in the Business Transient Segment. Strong and proven leadership experience required. Candidates must have excellent verbal, customer service & written communication skills.  Position includes travel and attendance at industry tradeshows.  Knowledge of the NY City transient market, including contract negotiations and understanding of consortia's preferred as the position requires development of new business for the hotel.  Experience with Hotelligence, Lanyon RFP responses, Opera, Delphi, are required, Excel and Outlook a plus.
